  • How long have you been in business?

Robert Moses started B.I.C. Home Inspections in 2009 and Matthew Moses has been with the company since 2015, both are licensed Alabama Home Inspectors. They were licensed plumbers and licensed home builders years before becoming home inspectors. Matthew currently holds an Alabama Home Builder’s License.

  • What are the items you inspect during your inspection?

We preform a non-invasive visual inspection. We look at the foundation, exterior, interior, roof, attic, doors, windows, insulation and more.

  • How will I receive the inspection report?

Once we finish the report, we email a PDF version of the report to you and your agent (if you have one). Our reports are broken down in sections (individual rooms, exterior, roof, garage, basement/crawlspace, etc) with a summary and photos at the end.

  • Do you provide photos in your final report?

Yes, we provide photos in our final report. The photos in the report are usually items we deem as important to bring to your attention. You can request all photos (regular photos, videos, and thermal images). Since the amount of photos will be larger than permitted by most email providers we can provide a USB with all the photos and reports or we can send a link for you to download them via Dropbox or Firefox Send.

  • Are there any testimony/reviews from your previous customers? Where can I add a review?

  • How long does it take to provide your final report?

The finalized report is typically emailed to you and your agent (if you have one) the same day of the inspection, but may take up to 48 hours.

  • What forms of payment can I use?

We currently accept most major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, & Discover), mobile payments (Samsung PayApple Pay, & Google Pay), debit cards, cash, money orders & cashier checks. Please make checks payable to B.I.C. Home Inspections. Business/personal checks are only accepted if they are from a bank that’s locally accessible in Tuscaloosa

  • How do I pay?

We use Square for our invoices. You will be emailed an invoice from them. We also will send an email with direct links to both the release agreement and invoice. You can either pay online or in person.

  • Can I come to the inspection?

You are more than welcome to come to the inspection! If you’re there when we finish the inspection we will do a walk through and explain the items on the report.

  • How do I view/sign the release agreement?

We do online release agreements for your convenience. To read and sign the agreement please go to https://www.nachi.org/viewagreement/ and enter your email address, then click “Get Your Inspection Agreement”. If you are an agent signing on behalf of the client, click the box marked “I am an authorized representative…” and enter your name. After you sign you can download a PDF of the agreement for your own records.

  • Can you do Short-Term Rental Inspections?

We do Short-Term Rental (STR) inspections on single-family dwellings less than three stories in Tuscaloosa. If you’re thinking about renting your home for one of Tuscaloosa’s many local events? Or how about renting out your home during the Alabama Football season? To obtain the proper STR certificates, homeowners are now required to be licensed with the City of Tuscaloosa. State of Alabama licensed home inspectors at B.I.C. Home Inspections can complete an inspection for your application process.
